Lake Willoughby’s Nude Beach

Okay, I have to write about this story appearing on CNN today.  Here is why.  Lake Willoughby (pronounced Willow-Bee) is one of my favorite places in the world.  One of my parents friend’s uncles owns a cabin on the lack and I have been going to spend weekends there for just about as long as I can remember (though haven’t been there in the past year or so because of living down here in Greenville).  The lave is this utterly beautiful pristine glacial formation bordered by two towing mountains, Pisgah and Hor.  My brother used to do cross country training camp at the lake during the summer.  I’ve only once been to the nude beach, mostly because it is located at the opposite end of the lack from where the camp is.  My personal opinion is leave the damn beach as it is you fucking prudes!  If you don’t want your kids to see naked old people (and most of the regulars at the nude beach are older folks) then take them to one of the other beaches.  The nudist are not harming anybody.  Honestly I’ve always liked that Willoughby had a nude beach because it just adds to the character.  God, what is wrong with people?  The human body isn’t something to be scared of and again, if you don’t like it, then go somewhere else.  Ri-God-Damn-Diculous!  Still I love the lake very much and hope to get to go back sometime in the future.

  1. i grew up about 20 minutes away from the beach, it is off the beaten path and the only way you would know it was there is to actively seek it out. I agree live it alone!
