Happy First Hurricane of the Season!
Bertha upgraded from a tropical storm to a full on hurricane this morning by obtaining winds of up to 75 miles per hour (the minimal required to be defined as a hurricane). Bertha is only the second named storm this season (the first, Arthur, only made it to tropical storm level). I wonder if meteorologists ever form pools on how many storms there are going to be in a given hurricane season. Maybe they place bets on the strength the storms will grow to. Is there something sick about that? I think not.
