Return of the Fishalope!
Years ago (like probably about ten or so considering it was my freshman year of high school – jeez I’m getting old) I drew a picture of a creature that I can only call a “fishalope” — half fish and half antelope. I loved that picture because it was just wonderfully bizarre and surreal. Sadly I do not know what has happened to the original (probably buried somewhere in my parent’s garage). Anyway, while bored this morning I felt the desire to recreate the fishalope and here I offer it to you:
Yeah, it’s weird, but I kind of like it. I feel like it would be cool to get a really huge piece of paper and draw a whole array of fish with the heads of other animals on it (dogs, cats, elephants, rabbits, etc.). Anybody know where one can get giant sheets of paper?
As a bonus, here is another drawing I did the other day. Another weird one but it was a fun mixed medium project.

I titled this piece "The New Zunab" because it has a resemblance to a series of drawing I did early in college of a creature I called Zunab the Ghost. I think this thing is kind of Lovecraftian really
The thing that I thought was cool about the above picture is that I used a black Crayola marker and a wet cotton swab to create the wet blueing effect surronding the thing. I also just enjoy the alienness of the creaute which makes it a bit creapy but also kind of fascinating.

The fishalope would be an excellent logo for a beer line. Maybe a line that specialized in combining two seemingly unrelated flavors to magical results.
I must say my friend that your suggestion is quite a genius one. The tag line could be something like “craft beers with uncanny hybridized flavors and delights”
Dude, forget about making fishalope a beer logo. You could brand a web/marketing company out of that beast and put everyone else in G-ville out of business.
I say that, and I picture you interview Adam and Jim for a job – and I crack up.
